Cecil and his wife, Diane, founded C.L. Wyman and Associates, Inc. (now dba as the Wyman Group) in 1986, and this year will mark the 48th year that Cecil has worked in the health/life insurance industry. Having led the Wyman Group growth to become the largest benefit brokerage/consultant in central Illinois, Cecil is now semi-retired, and his sons, Matthew and Timothy, are now at the helm of the company. Cecil and Diane spend part of their time in Florida during the winter months, and when not in Florida, he can usually be found hanging around the office, trying to improve his golf game, or possibly taking in a St. Louis Cardinals game. Love of family has long been his biggest motivator.
Tim has served as its president since joining the Wyman Group directly out of college in 1992. Just a three-man shop when he became a member of the Wyman Group, Tim has been instrumental in its growth and the success it enjoys today. Tim loves working with his clients, especially in the partially self-funded market, in order to bring cost-containment initiatives and wellness as a focus for their employees. He has been married to Annie for over 20 years, and together they have three children, Alexandra, Maggie, and Sam. When not working, Tim spends his time as the athletic director of St. Thomas School and coaching 7th and 8th grade basketball, as well as reading, gardening, and the occasional spin as actor or director in local theater.
Matt Wyman manages the day-to-day operations of the Wyman Group., and has been in his current role since the sale of our third party administrator, Progressive Benefit Services, which he helped found in the late 1990s. During his time at the Wyman Group, Matt has developed an efficient and modern infrastructure to successfully support our associates and clients. When away from the office, you can likely find Matt at a baseball field, either coaching our watching one of the travel teams he directs. Matt and his wife, Katie, have been married for over 20 years and reside in Dunlap with their sons, Aidan and Jonah.
With over 50 years of experience, selling and managing in the insurance industry, Steve comes to the Wyman Group as a retired vice-president of Illinois Mutual. Steve’s knowledge and expertise allows him to not only manage our individual life and health lines of insurance, but primarily, to help our senior clients navigate their Medicare and Medicare supplement options. He has been married to Sandy for over 50 years, and spends a great deal of his free time with his two children and his five grandchildren. When away from his family, Steve likes Bible study, tennis, hiking and swimming.
Lynn Taylor has over 30 years of experience in the health insurance and employee benefit market, and has been with the Wyman Group for over 16 years. Clients work with Lynn on bigger administrative issues such as billing problems, carrier mistakes, and other matters as they come up, and she also handles the ancillary coverages for all our clients. Lynn resides in Peoria, she has two children—Mike and Melinda—and is a loving grandmother to Brenden and Hailey. She lists spending time with family and grandchildren, along with gardening, as her favorite pastimes.
Ann has been an invaluable asset to the Wyman Group in the over 11 years she has been a member of our team. As the Eligibility and Claim Issue Advocate, she is an expert jack-of-all-trades, but primarily handles employee claim issues, enrollments and terminations, employer benefit meetings. Prior to coming to us, her professional background included being an office manager at a rehabilitation facility. She is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoys watching her wonderful neighbor children play basketball and baseball. Ann is involved in community theater and occasionally she can be seen in a local production.
Mike has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and over 15 years with the Wyman Group. As the Executive Underwriter at the Wyman Group, Mike’s goal is to help clients meet their medical insurance needs in a cost-efficient way. The medical insurance arena has been exceedingly volatile in the past few years, and Mike consistently strives to keep up-to-date with new trends as well as the ever-changing insurance rules and regulations. In his downtime, Mike is active as a performer and director for the Peoria area community theaters.
Juan Madrigal joined Wyman Group in 2017 as Vice President of Property and Casualty. Raised right here in Peoria, and a Manual High graduate, Juan is one of six children (five sisters!). Juan’s diverse business and insurance experience results in familiarity with the unique protection needs of families and business owners. Helping others and all of the wonderful relationships formed are two things Juan finds fulfilling about his career. Juan is married to Stephanie and has five children, Montana, Nicolas, Noah, Juan, and Cruz. In his time away from work, Juan enjoys spending time attending his kids’ sporting events, and training/working out with them. Juan also enjoys working on his golf game.
Beth has specialized and been expert in property and casualty insurance for over 35 years, and in particular, all lines of the commercial insurance arena. She started her career working on the carrier side, and after 5 years moved to the agency side of the business. Beth has now been with the Wyman Group for over 12 years. She attests working closely with the insureds gives her the greatest opportunity to provide the best customer service available and well as provide herself with a great deal of self-satisfaction. She has been married to her wonderful husband, Scott, for over 35 years, and they have four beautiful children together, as well as a growing squad (infield) of grandchildren.
